"Ladri di bambini a Baghdad". Una nuova inchiesta di RAINEWS24

"A due ragazzi iracheni, di soli 10 e 11 anni, sono stati prelevati i reni. Sono casi accertati perché i genitori di questi bambini sono venuti nel nostro centro. Vi sono anche dei casi dei bambini che sono stati salvati perché gli stessi rapitori erano in contatto con un medico privato e hanno curato le ferite dei bambini dopo le operazioni di prelievo degli organi. Ad un bambino sono stati prelevati gli occhi e per far andare in porto un'operazione del genere necessariamente vi è coinvolto uno specialista."

"Ladri di bambini a Baghdad" di Flaviano Masella, la prima della nuova serie di inchieste curate da Maurizio Torrealta per il canale all news della RAI, porta alla luce un'altra crisi umanitaria invisibile: un commercio di bambini che colpisce soprattutto Baghdad, un città già tanto tormentata da lasciare nell'ombra questa piaga. Sono almeno 5 ogni settimana i bambini che spariscono ma questo numero potrebbe essere molto più alto perché le ONG locali irachene non hanno statistiche sull'intero Paese.

Secondo ricercatori locali i bambini iracheni vengono venduti anche in Europa in particolare in Olanda e in Gran Bretagna attraverso i paesi limitrofi e ci sono organizzazioni internazionali che operano in collaborazione con basisti locali. E' facile procurarsi dei documenti falsi in Iraq in questo momento per far uscire i bambini dal paese. Molte famiglie che non possono avere bambini guardano con interesse all'Iraq e all'Afghanistan perché è un mercato poco costoso. Anche l'Unicef conferma questo vero e proprio commercio di bambini che sarebbe diretto anche verso l'Europa.

Iraq. Rainews24 broadcasts a report called "Thieves of children in Baghdad"

"Two iraqi boys, aged 10 and 11, had their kidneys extirpated and those cases are true because their parents came to our center for help. There are some other stories of children who survived because their kidnappers where in contact with a private doctor who healed the children after the extirpation of the organs. "Thieves of children in Baghdad" filed by Flaviano Masella, is the first report of a new series edited by Maurizio Torrealta created for Rai's all news channel. It brings to light a new humanitarian crisis which has gone unnoticed so far: the trade of children, which involves especially Baghdad, a town with many problems that does not take care of its children. Every week at least 5 children disappear, but the number could be higher since local iraqi NGOs do not have access to statistics about the whole country.

According to local researchers, Iraqi children are sold also in Europe, namely in the Netherlands and in the United Kingdom. They arrive to these countries through neighbouring countries thanks to international organizations which operate with local groups. In Iraq, it is easy to get fake documents to allow children out of the country. Many families, that are childless, look with interest to Iraq and Afganistan, because those are inexpensive markets. Unicef as well, confirms this trade of children directed towards Europe.
